Rehrig expanding production into Arizona

Cart and pallet molder Rehrig Pacific Co. is opening a major new injection molding plant in Buckeye, Ariz.

Los Angeles-based Rehrig Pacific had a groundbreaking ceremony for the new plant on May 11. The plant will create more than 100 new jobs and is expected to open in April 2024, officials said in a news release.

The first phase of the project includes a 260,000-square-foot plant, with room to grow to 500,000 square feet.

The investment "supports Rehrig Pacific's mission and values," CEO Will Rehrig said. "It was essential that we chose a location that worked well for both our current and future customers and one that supported our team members."

Rehrig added that his firm "found incredible partners in Buckeye that helped make this build-out a reality, as well as phenomenal support from state officials and local development."

Products made by Rehrig Pacific include residential and commercial trash carts, recycling bins, totes, pallets and crates. The firm also offers sorting and recycling services.

Rehrig Pacific was founded in 1913 as a maker of reusable wooden crates, The firm entered the plastics market in the 1960s. It now operates eight plants across North America.

Will Rehrig is the great-grandson of the company's founder, who also was named Will Rehrig.
