The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has announced a recall by Rousseau Chocolatier, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada of boxes of its Thankful chocolates due to potential mold contamination. Commenting on this story, one national food poisoning lawyer said, “Mold can cause allergic reactions or respiratory issues in certain populations, while other molds can produce poisonous toxins. Any consumer in possession of the recalled items should throw them away as soon as possible to minimize any risk of adverse reaction or illness.”
